Centennial Medical Center at Ashland City recognized as Employer of the Year

December 16, 2011

Nashville, Tenn., (December 6, 2011) – Centennial Medical Center at Ashland City was honored as the WorkForce Essentials, Inc., Cheatham County Employer/Partner of the Year during a luncheon at Gateway Church in Ashland City, Tenn.

“The entire Ashland City team is proud to receive this prestigious acknowledgement,” said Darrell White, facility administrator and chief nursing officer. “We are also proud to enhance our services to meet a community business and industry need through our partnership with Workforce Essentials.”

The luncheon recognizes outstanding achievement among individuals and businesses who participate in Workforce Essentials and Tennessee Career Center sponsored programs across Middle Tennessee. These organizations provide training programs to businesses and employment opportunities for job seekers and operate the local workforce investment board, respectively.

“The annual event is important because it affords us the opportunity to celebrate the partnerships we have developed over the past year,” said Renea Rosson, director of career services at Workforce Essentials.

According to the Workforce Essentials award description, county business owners conveyed the need for a local office where their employees could receive post-injury screening instead of traveling to Nashville for the service. Rosson said this service had many complexities, liabilities, and competency training requirements that could best be achieved with a partner organization. The resulting contracted partnership at the Cheatham County facility has increased post-injury worker’s compensation cases in the emergency department, said Tonia Pemberton, RN, emergency department manager.

“We were very excited to be afforded this opportunity to work with Centennial meeting their needs and the needs of our community,” Rosson said.

Centennial Medical Center at Ashland City offers the Cheatham County community enhanced on-site healthcare options which include inpatient care for non-life threatening illnesses, outpatient surgery, a 24-hour emergency department, comprehensive lab services and digital imaging services.
