NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 15, 2013) – Jeffrey Guy, M.D., M.S.c., M.M.H.C, F.A.C.S., has been appointed chief medical officer of TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Guy joined TriStar Centennial as the chief medical officer of TriStar Centennial Women’s & Children’s hospital in September 2012 and has been serving as interim chief medical officer of TriStar Centennial since November 2012.
“Dr. Guy brings a vast and diverse background to our medical center,” said Heather Rohan, FACHE, president and CEO of TriStar Centennial. “He will make many contributions to our programs and collaborate with the medical staff and leadership to continue improving quality care for our patients.”
Guy’s areas of expertise include program development, process improvement activities, burn surgery, trauma surgery, and surgical critical care services. He is board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.

Prior to joining TriStar Centennial, Guy was the director of the regional burn center and acute operative services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He also served as an associate professor of surgery, chief of the division of burn surgery, fellowship director of burn surgery, and course director of the critical illness immersion course at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
In his current role, Guy will be responsible for overseeing the medical affairs of the comprehensive services at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. He will play a significant role in quality and utilization analysis, as well as policy development and implementation. Guy will collaborate with other physicians, clinical staff, and hospital administration.
Guy received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. He completed fellowships in trauma surgery research at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, surgical critical care and trauma surgery at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, N.C., and burn surgery at North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also completed the Charles Fox Traveling Burn Fellowship with the American Burn Association.
In 2009, Guy received a Masters of Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management in Nashville.
