NASHVILLE, Tenn., (August 24, 2012) – Registration is now open for the TriStar Centennial Medical Center fall smoking cessation clinic beginning September 25*. This is the final clinic session being offered in 2012. Participants in this seven-week class will learn how to successfully quit smoking.
The class addresses the physical, mental, and social aspects of nicotine addiction and will help participants:
- Build motivation by weighing the pros and cons of smoking
- Discover personal and health-related reasons to quit
- Study the complexity of the smoking habit
- Form a plan for quitting based on observed patterns
- Learn about approaches for dealing with urges to smoke
- Explore long-term strategies to stay smoke-free
- Find encouragement through the support of a group setting
The clinic is held on Tuesdays from 5:30–7:30 p.m. between September 25 and November 6. A special Thursday session will be held on October 4.
Sessions are held at the TriStar Centennial Sports Medicine Wellness Gym located at 2410 Patterson Street, Suite 100, Nashville, Tenn. 37203. Complimentary parking is available in front of the building.
