NASHVILLE, Tenn., (June 11, 2012) – Registration is now open for TriStar Centennial Medical Center’s summer smoking cessation clinic beginning July 10. Participants in this seven-week class will learn how to successfully quit smoking.
The class addresses the physical, mental, and social aspects of nicotine addiction and will help participants:
- Build motivation by weighing the pros and cons of smoking
- Discover personal and health-related reasons to quit
- Study the complexity of the smoking habit
- Form a plan for quitting based on observed patterns
- Learn about approaches for dealing with urges to smoke
- Explore long-term strategies to stay smoke-free
- Find encouragement through the support of a group setting
The clinic is held on Tuesdays from 5:30–7:30 p.m. between July 10 and August 21. A special Thursday session is held on August 2.
Sessions are held at the TriStar Centennial Sports Medicine Wellness Gym located at 2410 Patterson Street, Suite 100, Nashville, Tenn. 37203. Complimentary parking is available in front of the building.
