NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 1, 2012) – TriStar Ashland City has earned the American College of Radiology (ACR) gold seal of accreditation for computed tomography (CT) services.
A CT scan uses x-ray technology to capture images inside the body, assisting medical diagnosis and treatment. TriStar Ashland City’s three-year accreditation applies to both in-patient and out-patient services.
“This accreditation ensures that the acquisition of clinical images, physician reports, and quality control documentation at Ashland City are each of the highest standard,” said R. Wayne Reid, vice president of imaging for TriStar Centennial. “This is an amazing accomplishment, demonstrating both our radiologists’ and technologists’ commitment to providing quality patient care right here in Cheatham County.”
The ACR is a professional medical organization dedicated to making imaging safe, effective, and accessible to those who need it. They are the oldest and most experienced imaging accreditation body in the nation. The accreditation process is an extensive peer-review by board-certified medical experts. Review includes image quality, personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance, and quality control.
