Nashville, Tenn., (April 6, 2012) – TriStar Centennial Medical Center announces Joseph Mazzo, Registered Nurse and Certified Emergency Nurse, has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations.
Mazzo began his career at Centennial as Director of Emergency Department Services in September 2009. His responsibilities also included the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Telemetry and Respiratory Therapy the past two years. In his new role as vice president of clinical operations, Mazzo will oversee Bed Management, Critical Care, and Medical Surgical Nursing. He will also be responsible for oversight of the new TriStar freestanding emergency department in Spring Hill.
“Joe’s background in healthcare, including holding various management positions in high acuity hospitals, has prepared him well for this position,” said Catherine Duffy, Chief Nursing Officer at TriStar Centennial. “He continuously looks for ways to elevate standards of practice and to improve patient care/outcomes across the facility and division. He is truly an advocate for the patient and for the staff.”
Mazzo received a Bachelor’s Degree is in Nursing from Queens College in Charlotte, N.C., and a Master’s Degree from Columbia University in New York. He is a Certified Emergency Nurse and a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society for professional nursing.
