TriStar Centennial Medical Center Welcomes Robert Deaver Collins, Jr., MD, FACP, FACR

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 17, 2013) –TriStar Centennial Medical Center is pleased to welcome Robert Deaver Collins, Jr., MD, FACP, FACR, a board certified rheumatologist, to its medical staff. Dr. Collins has joined The Frist Clinic, part of TriStar Medical Group.
Dr. Collins received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Yale University New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn., as well as a fellowship in clinical immunology and rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala.
Collins was a recent recipient of the American Medical Association Physician Recognition award, an award recognizing physicians for their commitment to continually expanding their knowledge and improving their skills through Continuing Medical Education. He is a member of several professional societies including the American Society for Bone & Mineral Research (2008), Phi Beta Kappa (1976), the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (1977). Collins is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine (1983) as well as the American College of Rheumatology (1983).
Collins joins the TriStar Centennial team from Jackson, Miss., where he was a practicing rheumatologist and president for a specialized arthritis clinic.
