TriStar Centennial Opens New Endoscopy Center
October 31, 2012
New location on campus is larger, more spacious
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 31, 2012) –The Centennial Endoscopy Center at TriStar Centennial is now seeing patients in a new location on campus.
“Our vision for the new Endoscopy unit was for the Nashville and surrounding areas to have easier access to be able to receive their ‘screening colonoscopies’ in one area on campus as opposed to several different areas,” said Melissa Dukes, RN, CGRN, manager of the Endoscopy Center. “With more and more people needing to have these procedures performed, the easier the access, the more likely they are to have it done - thus decreasing the chance of having a preventable cancer.”
Endoscopy is a process that allows physicians to better examine the body's passageways, including the esophagus, stomach, colon, etc. Through a piece of equipment known as an endoscope, the doctor can directly look at specific areas to better evaluate and detect problems.
A variety of standard and advanced endoscopy procedures—like colonoscopies and gastroscopies—are routinely performed at TriStar Centennial. Additional services include but are not limited to the following: stent placements, biopsies, fine needle aspiration (FNA), percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) placement, manometry with impedence, and endoscopic ultrasound.
The new space is conveniently located in the Medical Park building at 330 23rd Avenue North, Suite 400 on the TriStar Centennial campus.
Complimentary patient parking and convenient access are available in the Murphy Avenue garage. The Murphy Avenue parking garage has a direct entrance into the Medical Park building on each level and the walkway over Murphy Avenue between the hospital Tower and TriStar Centennial Women’s & Children’s hospital will allow access from our central connector.
Direct access and valet patient parking is also available on 23rd Avenue.
