Nashville, Tenn., (May 3, 2012) – Early detection is the best protection against breast cancer. In honor of Mother’s Day, TriStar Centennial Medical Center and TriStar Ashland City, along with other TriStar Health facilities, are offering screening mammograms at a special rate of $99* during the month of May.
“The ‘Peace of Mind for $99’ promotion gives women an opportunity to get the screening they need at an affordable price,” said Wayne Reid, vice president of Imaging at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. “This screening mammogram is designed to detect cancer in women who have no symptoms, and the goal is to find cancer when it’s still too small to be felt by a woman or her doctor. Early detection of breast cancer greatly improves a woman’s chance for successful treatment.”
The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year, and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. Depending on the patient’s family history some women should begin mammograms before age 40.
TriStar Centennial offers convenient locations in Nashville and Ashland City, Cheatham County, Tenn. Each patient receives personal quality care from the professional staff.
