NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2013) – TriStar Parthenon Pavilion is now providing group therapy programs each Saturday and Sunday through the Weekend Treatment Mall on the TriStar Centennial Medical Center campus in Nashville, Tenn.
“While groups have always been offered on weekend days, the Weekend Treatment Mall will now offer the same programming and variety of tracts as the weekday programming,” said Henry Bransford, Jr., M.S., manager of the Weekend Treatment Mall program. “These groups will be led by social workers, care coordinators, nurses, recreational therapists, art therapists, and music therapists.”
The Treatment Mall, which is the foundation of inpatient care at TriStar Parthenon Pavilion, has been operating every weekday since April 2010. This innovative concept allows patients to leave their units and participate in programming based on their own individual needs and mental health diagnoses.
In the past, patients received therapy according to the specific unit to which they were assigned. Now, patients leave their units each day and interact with individuals, staff and therapists from other units in the Treatment Mall.
“We’re excited about the weekend programming because our patients deserve the same quality groups that we are currently offering during the week on Saturday and Sunday as well,” Bransford said. “Daily group programs are especially important as patient length of stay continues to get shorter.”
