Program Description and Benefits

The PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency program is shared between HCA and the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center is an 85-bed inpatient cancer facility with a 21-bed stem cell transplant clinic and an 18-chair outpatient oncology infusion center, located on the campus of HCA's flagship hospital, TriStar Centennial Medical Center, and will serve as the primary practice site for the resident. Throughout the year, the resident will be involved in projects at the facility and corporate level. The resident will also have many opportunities to be involved in and network with other oncology pharmacists at the local, state and national level.

As members of a team of 14 Pharmacy Residents (6 at TCMC and 8 at HCA), each resident performs the vital role as preceptor for pharmacy students rotating through the practice site. TriStar Centennial Medical Center has strong ties to the three local schools of pharmacy and involvement with several others nationwide.
