The Leapfrog Group "A" Score
TriStar Centennial Medical Center earned an "A" Hospital Safety Score from The Leapfrog Group. Scores were assigned to U.S. hospitals based on preventable medical errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The "A" score was compiled under the guidance of the nation's leading experts on patient safety and is designed to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families.
The Joint Commission Accreditation
TriStar Centennial is proud to be accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting certain performance standards. Accreditation is awarded to a health care organization that is in compliance with all standards at the time of the on-site survey or has successfully addressed requirements for improvement within 90 days following the survey.
Certified Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission
This designation recognizes TriStar Centennial's commitment to the rapid assessment, intervention, and treatment of patients exhibiting stroke symptoms and the administration of clot busting drugs to patients who meet the criteria.
Certified Spine Surgery Program by The Joint Commission
This designation recognizes TriStar Centennial's commitment to standards of quality care specific to the needs of patients with disorders of the spine and their families, including infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management.
Gold Seal of Approval® for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement by The Joint Commission
TriStar Centennial has received the The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Certification. The certification is for Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services and patient care.
Commission on Cancer Accreditation
The comprehensive Sarah Cannon Cancer Center oncology program at TriStar Centennial is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Our program received the Outstanding Achievement Award following our last commission survey in 2008.
Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Chest Pain Centers
The Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPS) has granted TriStar Centennial Medical Center full accreditation with percutaneous coronary intervention. We are proud that our comprehensive chest pain center and program meets or exceeds standards of quality care based on our clinical processes for the early assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute coronary syndromes and heart failure.
Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
The Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity at TriStar Centennial Medical Center is recognized as a Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery for our comprehensive program and quality patient outcomes.
Sleep Center Accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine
TriStar Centennial Medical Center's Sleep Disorder Center has been awarded recertification for a period of five years from The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) as a result of a recent on-site evaluation.

Our comprehensive weight loss surgery program provided through the Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity at TriStar Centennial Medical Center has been recognized by several healthcare organizations for our standards of clinical performance and overall value for healthcare. Cardiac Certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
AACVPR certification demonstrates that TriStar Centennial's cardiac rehabilitation program is aligned with current guidelines as approved by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for the appropriate and effective early outpatient care of patients with cardiac or pulmonary issues.
Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care
Blue Cross/Blue Shield recognition of TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center as a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care® means that we have demonstrated commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients.
Echocardiography Accreditation
TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center was awarded a certificate of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for echocardiography. This accreditation represents our commitment to quality patient care through quality echocardiographic diagnostic evaluations.

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation Program is an internationally recognized program based on the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Standards. This accreditation recognizes TriStar Centennial's commitment to quality practices in our medical laboratory and achieving the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient care.
Anatomic Pathology Laboratory of Nashville Accreditation
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation Program is an internationally recognized program based on the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Standards. This accreditation recognizes TriStar Centennial's commitment to quality practices specifically for medical laboratory examination and diagnosis of tissue and body fluid and achieving the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient care.
Laboratory Blood Bank Accreditation
Accreditation by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) means that TriStar Centennial's laboratory blood bank meets voluntary standards for blood bank blood component collection, processing, and transfusion - as well as with the Code of Federal Regulations and federal guidance documents. AABB recognizes our quality and operational systems, and that our program strives to improve the safety of collecting, processing, testing, distributing, and administering blood and blood products.
Neuroscience Services
Surgical Spine Specialty Center - UnitedHealth Premium®
The UnitedHealth Premium designation means patients can depend on TriStar Centennial Medical for conscientious, reliable surgical spine care. Our program meets extensive quality and outcomes criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice. The criteria incorporate measurements of breadth and depth of care, staff experience, emergency care, quality, and outcomes reporting.
Oncology
The Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancers (SCCBC) has its own Cell Processing Laboratory where staff receive, process, cryopreserve, store, and distribute cellular therapy products recovered from peripheral blood and bone marrow.
The SCCBC laboratory is registered with the FDA and has the following accreditations:

Radiology Services

The American College of Radiology (ACR) is a professional medical organization dedicated to making imaging safe, effective, and accessible to those who need it. Accreditation means TriStar Centennial's radiologists and technologists meet ACR standards of image quality, personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance, and quality control.
