A patient's access to high quality stroke care can not only mean the difference between life and death, but it can also make a difference in a patient's quality of life. For about 80 percent of stroke patients, immediate diagnosis and treatment can reduce or eliminate permanent disability. TriStar Centennial is pleased to announce that we have earned Stroke Accreditation from the Joint Commission as a Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. This aids in the quick assessment and diagnosis of patients exhibiting stroke symptoms and the administration of clot busting drugs to patients who meet the criteria.

A Stroke is an Emergency

One of the biggest challenges today remains getting people to recognize stroke symptoms. Call 911 if you or someone you know experiences any of these stroke warning signs:

  • sudden onset of confusion
  • loss of coordination including walking or balancing
  • difficulty talking or understanding speech
  • numbness or weakness on one side of the body
  • severe headache
  • vision problems in one or both eyes
